The Audix CabGrabber is an invaluable tool for studio and live applications alike. Its clever design allows a microphone to be securely attached directly to the amplifier or cabinet without any need for a mic stand. Whether you're using a large-diaphragm condenser or another type of mic, the CabGrabber can hold it firmly in place. It's light and compact so it won't take up much space in your gig bag, but also strong enough to accommodate mics weighing up to 16 ounces.

I previously used a kick drum mic stand that worked fine. However, from time to time the mic cord would get pulled and cause the mic to turn away from the amp. The cabgrabber eliminates that problem.
Seems to be made of quality material and grips the amp cabinet tightly. I use mine on a Fender Deluxe Reverb.
Mic clips could be a little bigger to fit cables.
You may need a short gooseneck, an extension or an LO2 to get the correct positioning.
we are using for festival situation with amps on rolling risers- don;t have the concern of moving a mic stand- the mics are mounted to the amps

I have a nice dynamic mic, so it didn't make sense to cheap out on the stand. Especially a cab which which can be moved and adjusted with the mic still attached.
But cheap, buy twice.
