ebony fret board, mahagony top, all wood guitar, tuner, can be plugged into an amp.... yes please, love this guitar for the money
Nice little guitar and easier to hold and play than the Traveler, which I also own. The Traveler is much more compact so there are some advantages there, but you need some type of mini-headphone amp and a speaker to plug the traveler into. I purchased the Baby so that when traveling somewhere for work via airline for a week, I have a decent guitar to play. Also for when we go on vacation and are traveling via airline. Otherwise, I would bring my full size guitars.
The Baby is a nice acoustic sound, big sound for the size of the guitar but not the same rich tone you are going to get out of a full size Taylor. I also own two other full size Taylors: 324ce and a 562ce, which sound incredible. The Baby is made in Mexico but that's better than China! The tuners are not standard Taylor tuners, remember they are trying to hit a certain price point here. I changed mine out to standard Taylor tuners but they did add a little bit of weight to the headstock compared to the standard tuners that it came with. Not a big deal and when you're sitting, you really can't tell. Because of its size, the neck is much smaller than full size guitars. The frets are also slightly closer than on a full size guitar. Again, not a big deal for me when practicing on the road. Again because of the price point issue, this comes with plastic bridge pins just as the 100 and 200 series Taylors.
Overall a good purchase and probably very nice for someone with smaller hands.
